Restaurant closed, and rumor around town is that it is being remodeled and will re-open.

We come here every trip to the coast for Betty's pies and one of the best Crab Louie Salads around. We love the retro vibe and the views of the harbor. Look for the photos on the wall of Jack Nicholson and Michael Douglas when filming Cuckoo's Nest. Do yourself a favor and stop here!

We had reservations for a large family gathering, although I doubt we needed it because they weren't busy at all. Service didn't look to happy to see our large group arrive and was very scattered and not very organized, but mostly kind and attentive. We picked the Spouting Horn because my husband's grandparents used to come during the summers over the years, so when we had our family reunion it seemed like a fitting venue. I went with the chowder and, ugh. It was so, so THICK and heavy. No clams, no potatoes, no real flavor there. They said it was homemade, but I really doubt it. The bread they brought out was tasty. I did enjoy the deep dish pie, but I would skip this place the next time around. Also, the bathroom is "out of order"? Dark and dingy, needs a good deep clean and a facelift.

I visited on October 10, 2014. I knew something was wrong when I visited at dinner time and the restaurant was almost empty. Friendly server and decent atmosphere. The food was not very good. My fish and chips were under cooked and the fries were lukewarm. The dinner salad was plain. One of my gusts had scallops and they were also under cooked. I was told the vegetable soup was good. I can not recommend this restaurant.

We stopped for breakfast... Only one other car parked out front.. We walked in, the place does need some sprucing up, but it's clean. I ordered a plain waffle, with a side of bacon, hubby ordered 2 eggs over easy. Coffee is served in small coffee cups, just stand beside me and keep pouring! The waffle was served with two whipped butters and hot syrup! I can't remember the last time I was served hot syrup! My bacon came crisp, just the way I like it. Hubby's eggs were cooked right, hashbrowns crunchy, and his bacon less crisp, just the way he likes it. The view of the harbor is relaxing and the mellow music made breakfast a layed-back experience . No complaints.

OK lunch for a reasonable price. 3 of us had fish sandwiches, and they were generous, soft, moist, and flaky. Very good. Crab and cheddar considered very good by the teenage boy. Coconut cream pie was great. View on harbor was great. Could benefit from replacing the old carpet with a hard floor.

Don't waste your money on the Buffet. I couldn't say anything positive about any part of it. What a waste of money and calories. I worked here 30 years ago and wanted to go back as I remember it as being very good food. Sorely disappointed. I don't think they have changed the carpet or furnishing in those 30 years either. Was surprised to see old Betty still owns it and still working.

This place used to be pretty good, I don't know what happened. It was a bit chilly outside but that was no excuse for it being like 100 degrees in there. There was often no one up front to seat people or take payments. Our server was really nice and everyone seemed friendly enough but they were hard-pressed to keep up with a weekend dinner crowd. I ordered the catch of the day, which cost $18 (holy s***!!) and it seriously tasted microwaved. It was so rubbery and tasteless that I couldn't eat it. My husband got fish and chips and said they were pretty bad, too. I don't know, maybe the buffet is good here, but we don't really like buffets so we ordered off the menu. The regulars all seem to go gaga over it. Unless I hear they've gotten a LOT better I think we're done going here, which is sad. It has been one of my go-to places for almost 20 years.

Granted... we came with a huge group so that may be why the service was so shoddy. But that doesn't explain why I just wasted that many calories eating the worst fish and chips of my life. I mean really?! You're RIGHT on the water and that's the kind of fish you serve?! Lame.

lord knows i've consumed some gross breakfasts, but this one sticks out in recent memory as one of the worst. i ordered a simple ham & cheese omelette... no complaints about the ham (though i've had way better) but they used american cheese. AMERICAN CHEESE. unreal. when you are located between tillamook and bandon, you better come up with something better than kraft pre-sliced cheese. honestly. what in sweaty hell did i do to deserve american cheese? service was nice enough, i suppose.

Come here for THE BEST pie in Lincoln County. I can't vouch for anything other than that.

I haven't been here for several years, but this used to be a family staple for nice meals out. The restaurant has a great location, tons of windows looking down on the tiny Bay and the fishing boats. Definitely try to get a seat next to the windows. As for the service, I remember it being very erratic. Sometimes we would go here and have great service, and other times it would be horrible. The food was always good, but nothing extraordinary. I would certainly go back, if nothing else than for the view and the memories of family outings.

Great fish sandwich, and our waitress was really really sweet. Also a nice view of the harbor.

Nauseating. My wife & I both fee ill after eating here. I consumed a bowl of snotty clam chowder and "halibut" fish and chips, which were clearly purchased from a factory even though it sits next to the dock where the fishing boats come in. Grand total $40+tip, and a trip to the crapper to attempt to vomit to make myself feel better.
